Whose picture is it?
Hers. Everything we build starts from one rule: the young athlete — and her family — own her picture. Everyone else sees only what their role needs to make a good call.

What Seen.Strong collects
This is the complete list. It matches, item for item, what we declare to Apple on the App Store privacy label — there is no second list.
Her first name
Optional. The screen works without it.
WHY · To address her by name in her own reading.
Health and fitness answers
Self-reported injury history, training load, sleep, pain, and height — plus the tier index, band, domain scores, and cohort percentile we calculate from them.
WHY · To produce the reading. This is the product.
Her age in years
She types a date of birth at the gate. It is converted to an age on her phone and the date of birth is never sent to us.
WHY · To confirm she is 13 or older, and to compare her against the right cohort.
Her sport
Sport only. Not a team, a school, or a position.
WHY · To norm her reading against athletes who move the way her sport asks them to.
A reading ID
A code we generate, stored on her device. It is not a name, an email, or an advertising identifier.
WHY · So a returning family sees the reading they already took.
A grown-up's email — optional
A parent or guardian may leave their own email address at the consent step. It is theirs, never the athlete's, and it is never asked for when an adult is screening herself. Leaving it blank changes nothing about the reading.
WHY · So we can tell you when her next reading is due, and stay reachable about it. We confirm the address before we ever use it. Not marketing, never sold, never shared with a coach or a clinic. One click stops it for good.
Which buttons were tapped
Anonymous product-interaction events — which prompt was shown, at what stage.
WHY · To find where the experience is confusing and fix it.
A reading is anonymous at capture — no account, no login, no email. If she later chooses to claim that reading into a Better Athlete account, it becomes linked to her identity from that point forward. We tell Apple the data is linked for exactly this reason.

What we don't collect
Not asked for, not stored
No email or phone number from the athlete — see “A grown-up’s email” below for the one contact field, which is a parent’s and is optional. No home address or location — the app never asks your device where it is. No date of birth. No sex, gender, race, or any other sensitive category. No contacts, no browsing history, no search history. No payment details — there is no purchase inside this app.
No video yet
The movement-capture step currently uses a manual stand-in. The camera is not used and no footage is recorded. When video capture does ship, we will ask for guardian consent before the camera opens, we will keep the movement analysis and not the footage, and we will update this page and the App Store label in the same release.
No tracking. No sale. No ads.
There is no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no advertising identifier in this app. We do not track her across other companies’ apps or websites, so iOS never shows her a tracking-permission prompt. We do not sell data, share it for targeted advertising, or build behavioural profiles. Not now, and not as a later business model.

Thirteen and up
Seen.Strong is built for athletes 13 and older. The age gate is the first thing in the experience and it is neutral — it asks for a date of birth without hinting at which answer opens the door.
If she is under 13, the screen stops there and nothing is collected. Better Athlete does not serve athletes under 13 either, so there is nowhere we send her instead — the answer is simply to come back when she is 13. Because the date of birth is converted on her phone and never transmitted, we do not hold a piece of information we have no use for.
If she is under 18, a parent or legal guardian agrees to our terms on her behalf.

Who sees what
If she carries her reading forward into Better Athlete, these boundaries follow it. They are not settings someone can loosen — they are how the product is built.
ATHLETE
Sees everything about herself. Owns what private detail is shared, and with whom.
PARENT
Sees the picture, engagement, and next steps. Never sees private health detail — cycle tracking, mental-health notes.
COACH
Sees the tier and training guidance. Never sees private health detail or clinical notes.
CARE TEAM
Athletic trainers, PTs and physicians see the clinical picture needed for care — nothing about athletes they don't treat.
LEADERSHIP
Sees de-identified rollups — distributions and trends, never an individual's private data.
BUSINESS
Sees aggregate metrics only — never athlete-level records.

When a provider gets involved
If a family asks us to help them find a provider, the information needed to make that introduction — a guardian’s name and contact details, a general location, and the reading itself — is collected in the Better Athlete app after the handoff, not inside Seen.Strong, and only because the family asked for it. It goes to the providers needed to make the introduction and to nobody else.
Every connection is an invitation a family sends. A coach does not sign up and see every athlete. No recruiters. No insurers. No colleges.

Keeping it, and getting rid of it
Readings are encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted at the database layer — not just in the interface.
Write to privacy@betterathlete.com and we will tell you what we hold and delete it. Not a form, not a queue — a person answering. Deleting the app also clears the reading ID stored on the device.

Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the product changes, and we will change the effective date at the top when we do. Material changes get a notice, not a silent edit.
